The aim of the strategic litigation event was to stimulate discussion and to act as a bridge between the policy and legal world to cross fertilise ideas which would help participants think through opportunities for strategic litigation in Scotland.

The event was organised in the months following the 2011 the Supreme Court judgment in the Axa case which opened up the rules on who could bring a judicial review case and gave new impetus to the idea of organisations in Scotland using the law to advance policy.

Clan Childlaw continues to advocate and use strategic litigation to achieve broader change for children and young people.
