This course is relevant for anyone working with children or their families or in the field of child law.  Trainee lawyers, Newly Qualified lawyers and those lawyers returning to practice in child and family law will find the course extremely beneficial as well as advocacy workers and other professionals supporting children and their families involved in a court dispute.

We look at the balance between parental rights and responsibilities and children’s rights in the context of section 11 orders with particular focus on how a child participates in the court process and how their views are obtained.

As with all of our training sessions, the course is interactive, encouraging discussion of case studies and court procedures.  Handouts are provided with reference to further reading to support learning.
