8th Dec 2022. This training course is for advocacy workers, social workers and anybody supporting young people in the children's hearings system. It does not require any prior knowledge of disclosure specifically but general knowledge of the hearing system will be helpful.
3rd Feb 2023. This short, practical, introductory level course will explain the duties that local authorities owe care-experienced young people when and after they leave care. It will be useful for advocacy workers, carers, support, and advice workers who work with care-experienced children and young people.
According to the latest Scottish Government statistics, in 2019/2020 almost 26% of homeless applications were made by young people, although young people only make 12% of Scotland’s total population.
This course looks at using young people’s housing rights to make sure that they get the emergency accommodation, suitable temporary accommodation and permanent housing that they are entitled to.
