About this course:
An introduction to the Children’s Hearings system led by an experienced lawyer specialising in this unique environment.
Who is this course for?
This course is for people who support or advocate for children and young people who attend children’s hearings, or those who have been asked to attend a children’s hearing in their capacity as a support worker, keyworker, teacher, or other professional role.
Please note this session is not aimed at a legal audience – further sessions around Children’s Hearings specifically for a legal audience will be running in later in the year.
The training is focused on children’s rights throughout and will introduce key concepts and terminology of the children’s hearings system, enabling you to feel confident in fulfilling your own role in the children’s hearing.
Key learning:
How and why children are referred to a children’s hearing,
The key roles in the hearing
What legal orders a children’s hearing can make
