We’re looking forward to a day of discussion of the latest practice, policy and legal developments in delivering sibling contact for looked after children today in Glasgow!
Clan Childlaw and Siblings Reunited (STAR) are organising the conference to close a training project funded by the Scottish Government CYPFEIF and ALEC Fund in which we’ve delivered 10 workshops on sibling contact across Scotland over the last year.
It’s timed to mark one year since the launch of Stand Up for Siblings, making it is a great opportunity to take stock and look at what needs to happen now to deliver change for looked after brothers and sisters in Scotland.
Speaking today will be:
- Minister for Children and Young People Maree Todd MSP
- Children and Young People’s Commissioner Scotland Bruce Adamson
- Theighan McGirr, Who Cares? Scotland
- Dr Chris Jones, Strathclyde University & Co-founder of Stand Up for Siblings
- Laura Beveridge & Lynne O’Brien, Independent Care Review
- Alexander MacDonald, Renfrewshire Children’s Panel
- Rhona Pollock, AFA Scotland
- Karen Morrison & Aileen Parker, Siblings Reunited (STAR)
- Alison Reid & Fiona Jones, Clan Childlaw
