The Scottish Government has published the following two guides prepared by Clan Childlaw:
This guide aims to help children between the age of 13 and school leaving age who might want a part-time job to have some financial independence, and to gain experience of employment. It covers the types of work that children can do, as well as procedures and regulations around the hours of work.
This guide aims to help parents and guardians of children who wish to take part in performances, whether paid or unpaid. The guide covers when licences are required, who is responsible for obtaining a licence, who receives applications, who is responsible for issuing licences, restrictions, working hour limits, breaks, Body of Persons Approval, and other aspects around licencing in an easy to read format.
