On 18th June 2019 we welcomed nearly 100 colleagues from across the sector to the Lighthouse in Glasgow for an engagement and launch event for our new Care Leavers’ Law Service, which is a 5-year, Scotland-wide project funded by the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation.
The day gathered the experiences and observations of people such as advocacy workers and policy officers who are working with young people who are preparing to leave care, or who have already left care, to assist us as we plan and map out the CLLS service.
Clan Childlaw team members also delivered four taster training workshops in the afternoon on specific areas of the law in relation to care leavers.
We are hugely appreciative of the time and insights that participants gave us over the course of the day. All of the data and stories gathered will be used as we develop this new service, so that it can be as relevant and useful as possible to care-experienced young people as they transition towards adulthood, as well as those supporting them.
If you would like more information about CLLS, please do get in contact with our Project Manager Gaby Nolan or call our enquiry line on 0808 1290522.
