Suitable for anyone working with children or in the field of child law, this session aims to raise the awareness of the rights of children and young people.  It has been widely recognised that children and young people have  a relatively low awareness of their rights and yet a comparatively high rate of success in terms of vindicating their rights.

This course is part of our national promotion and awareness-raising around the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) especially relevant at the moment given the new reporting duties introduced by the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014 in relation to the UNCRC.

The interactive course examines the development of children’s rights and how they are applied in Scots Law using case studies, group discussions and activities.
