Training Our Training Workshop: Understanding Children's Hearings No trainings are currently scheduled, however can develop bespoke courses across Scotland to meet the training needs of your organisation and deliver training on your premises – please email [email protected] or phone 0131 475 2567 to discuss and arrange. Suitable for those with some or no experience of the Children’s Hearings system, this course gives an understanding of the system, so that delegates will be better equipped to explain to the children and families involved what is happening and what to expect. The course will cover referral processes, investigations, the role of the reporter, grounds of referral, children’s hearings, sheriff court proofs, supervision requirements and emergency procedures. In this interactive session, we encourage reflection on practice through group discussion, case studies and group activities. We have delivered many seminars and workshops connected to both the changes brought in by the Children’s Hearings (Scotland) Act 2011 and the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014 and the current law in relation to children’s hearings.
